Centre of Excellence

The Centre of Excellence is a (typically small) team of dedicated individuals managed from a common central point, separate from the functional areas the that supports within a practice or organization, sometimes referred to as a competency tools, techniques and practices.

This group is to operate across areas within the practice or organization, with focus on

  • Providing through leadership and direction.
  • Establishing and promoting best practices.
  • Research and development to provide appropriate recommendations.
  • Support, education and placement

In an endeavor to inculcate and groom young engineers of today, especially in the domain of CAD/CAM/CAE, a Centre of Excellence is established at SITRC’s Department of Mechanical Engineering in collaboration with Access CADD, a leader in area of CAD/CAM/CAE.

The Centre of Excellence will boost studies and innovation related to CAD/CAM/CAE and its allied fields. The Department of Mechanical Engineering and Access CADD will offer tailor made courses in the domain of CAD/CAM/CAE as per the needs of industries. The experts from Access CAD will train our students in the domain of CAD/CAM/CAE. Students will work on real time industrial projects in the domain of CAD/CAM/CAE.

Objectives of the MOU:


  • Fostering industry-Academia Synergy: Bridging the gap between industry and academics by facilitating knowledge sharing and to align pedagogical effort relevant to industry requirements.
  • Imparting Relevant Skill Development in Students: Creating awareness and interest amongst students in the most promising upcoming technologies that will ensure a great career – be it placement, freelancing or entrepreneurship, conducting workshops and faculty development programs which mandates practical approach.
  • Creating strong Entrepreneurship Platform: Connecting incubation labs of Access CADD, Nashik – 422 002 its partner companies and the institute to identify, encourage and mentor students to start their own ventures in college itself, exemplary students will be provided with investment and further mentoring.
  • Providing Non-Engineering Career opportunities: A large percentage of students soon realize after joining engineering that are meant to do something else. Providing non-engineering job profiles for such students so they make a career in what they love doing.
  • Facilitating Cross-functional learning: Facilitating multi-disciplinary projects so students and faculties are exposed to other important domains in this increasingly interconnected world.
  • Consultation on Lab Setup and Equipment: Setting up labs, procuring equipment and training on those equipment.
  • Increasing IPs: Boosting research output of the college by training students and collaborating with faculty to ideate and execute great concepts.
  • Benefits of Huge Network: Webmaster key, being a member of Saturday Club Global Trust, will try to help the college using the network wherever possible.
