Library Services

Library uses KOHA Library software package which is integrated multi-user, multi-tasking library information software that supports all in-house operations of the library. The software extends the facilities like catalogue, circulation, utility, serial control, and acquisition. The database of books available in the library is being updated on a day-to-day basis.

The library offers computerized catalogue search services through the online public access catalogue (OPAC). The bibliographic record has the data of more than 30,000 books available in the Library. OPAC is placed in the user area for the library users to access the OPAC. In this form, users can search the library items by filling the required fields, such as item type, subject, title, author, member name, etc. When users click “Search”, the searched information appears on the screen in a tabular form with full details of the items.

The Central Library of Sandip Institute of Technology and Research Centre (SITRC), Nashik provides a wide range of services to support the academic, teaching, learning, and research needs of students, faculty members, researchers, and staff.

Circulation Services

Book Circulation Timings: 08:00 AM to 5:00 PM (On all working days)

Book Borrowing Policy

General Rules

• Books are issued and returned only during the circulation timings (08:00 AM to 5:00 PM).
• Borrowers must present a valid Institute ID card while issuing books.
• Books should be returned or renewed on or before the due date.
• Overdue books are subject to fines as per the library rules.
• Reference books, journals, magazines, dissertations, and project reports are for library use only unless otherwise permitted.
• Borrowers are responsible for the safe custody of issued books. Lost or damaged books must be replaced or compensated as per library policy.

Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC)

• Search books by title, author, subject, keyword, accession number, or publisher.
• Check book availability and library holdings online.

Reference Services

• Assistance in locating books, journals, standards, and reference materials.
• Guidance in using print and electronic reference resources.

Digital Library Services

The Central Library provides a well-equipped Digital Library with 12 internet-enabled computer systems
supported by high-speed internet connectivity. The Digital Library offers seamless access to a wide range of electronic
information resources for academic learning and research.

The Central Library provides a Newspaper Section on the First Floor where hard copies of daily newspapers
